The SHIELD program provides community members and organizations with information on emerging trends as well as evolving terrorist threats that may impact our community. The SHIELD program focuses on threats and trends as they relate to critical infrastructure, cyber and terrorism. We recognize that strong partnerships create safe communities. We strongly encourage our SHIELD partners to share any information or intelligence that they have with us so that we can further disseminate to our larger SHIELD membership, for the benefit of all.
Our mission
SHIELD is connected to an international network to keep you informed as to what is occurring in our community and abroad. The program is designed with an understanding that crime and terrorism events throughout the region, country and even the world, can also have an impact in our community here in Calgary and Alberta.
We encourage membership from a variety of sectors including law enforcement, critical infrastructure & utilities, oil & energy, finance & banks, government agencies, educational institutes, health and hospitals, media, transportation, security, and telecommunications to name a few.
The Calgary Police SHIELD asks that our SHIELD partners share information and intelligence and report suspicious activity that may have a nexus to terrorism and critical infrastructure. It is a program that relies on public/private partnership and relies on information sharing. We recognize that strong partnerships create safer communities.

The foundation focuses on strengthening public-private partnerships to enhance community safety and security worldwide.
