Law enforcements long tradition of working with the community paved the way for the development of one of the most innovative homeland security and counter terrorism initiatives today, SHIELD.
SHIELD was developed in partnership with police agencies from around the world to counter terrorism and increasing crime trends. SHIELD incorporates a community policing strategy that provides a platform for the private sector to partner with law enforcement agencies and receive not only the latest terrorism information from around the world, but significant alerts and intelligence products.
SHIELD is designed to not only increase opportunities for the private sector security executives to collaborate with law enforcement and seamlessly share potential crime, terrorist activity or suspicious information, but also increase their awareness of crime trends that cross-jurisdictional boundaries and the current condition of national security, public safety and terrorism abroad.
Partners receive access to periodic “real time” alerts/reports. The results being increased public & private sector partnerships, a relevant resource to keep partnerships long lasting and real time awareness of those best practices designed to prevent crime and keep our community safe.
